Our Principal
Hello Lincoln Families!
I’m Shawn Galvin the principal here at Lincoln Elementary. I started working in the Janesville School District in 2010, and we have been working hard to innovate and create learning opportunities that are on the leading edge of educational change. I have lived in the Stateline area my entire life and am passionate about providing a great education for our children.
My professional background varies but has all been in the elementary setting. I have been in education since 1999 and I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades as well as being an elementary assistant principal. I taught in both a small 1,000 student district and in a large urban district with 30,000+ students. I also served for 7 years as camp director for a non-profit day camp that provided a free camp experience for at-risk youth in the Stateline area.
I have an Associate’s degree from Rock Valley College, a Bachelor’s degree from Rockford College, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership both from National Louis University, and most recently a Doctorate in Education at Edgewood College.
More importantly, I want to get to know you, the Lincoln School community, and be able to serve your needs. My goal is to build upon all of the great things happening here at Lincoln and to make this a positive year of growth for the staff and students. Lincoln is, where greatness begins!
Sincerely,
Shawn Galvin
